Measuring tape stand

De Bouw Kijkt Verder

Unique arcade stand

For De Bouw Kijkt Verder, we developed an interactive arcade game themed around construction, fully built in Unity and featuring custom-made 3D assets. In the game, players jump over obstacles, collect bricks, and dodge bulldozers, containers, and other hazards on the construction site.

The game was given a striking physical form: an arcade cabinet shaped like a giant tape measure, allowing one player at a time to experience the game. The result is a unique and memorable experience that playfully sparks the interest of both young people and adults in a future in the construction industry.

From 3D model to playable game

For the game, we started by developing the various 3D assets. All objects in the game world were modelled in-house and given their own textures and materials, from bulldozers and containers to bricks and other elements found on a construction site.

We then brought these assets together in Unity, where we built the entire game environment, gameplay and interactions. The result is an accessible arcade game in which the player guides a character through a dynamic construction site.

By jumping over obstacles, collecting bricks, and avoiding bulldozers, containers and other hazards, the gameplay remains simple and accessible to players of different ages.

To give the game even more impact, we developed a physical arcade stand alongside the digital experience. The entire installation was designed as a giant tape measure, with space for one player at a time to step in and play the game. This creates a striking interactive event activation that not only invites people to play, but also captures attention at festivals and other events.

This project demonstrates how 3D animation, game development and interactive technology can be combined to bring a brand, message or campaign to life in an original way. An interactive game can, for example, be used at trade fairs, festivals, corporate events, training sessions, product launches or for employer branding.
